ESCCA, The Evanston School Children’s Clothing Association, is in desperate need of warm winter clothes!
We most need:
-> Winter parkas and warm coats for sizes 8 (youth) through teen/adult
-> Boys long sleeved shirts sizes 10-18
-> Fleece jackets and pullovers for girls and boys
-> Hoodies, sweatshirts and sweatpants for girls and boys
-> Warm gloves, scarves, snow pants
Please, DO NOT donate:
. Footwear
. Baby or toddler clothes or sizes smaller than 5-6 youth
. Clothing with broken zippers, rips or tears.

Many thanks to all the families who donated items for tonight’s parent-teacher conference supper! There were so many delicious dishes — seafood paella, curry chicken, pasta, pizza, salads, dips & chips, fresh fruit & bread, assorted beverages and a plethora of tempting desserts. Wow. The teachers were very appreciative! Thank you!

Thanks to Yum Squared cookies & mini cupcakes will be made available to be decorated at the Halloween Party. 50% of proceeds will go to support the Oakton Eyeglass Fund that helps to provide corrective lenses to those who are otherwise unable to afford them.
Cookies will be $2.00 and mini cupcakes will be $1 (cash only please!).
Come prepared to buy a sweet treat and enjoy adding your own artistic touches before you gobble it up!

BOO! Don’t forget about the PTA’s Halloween party this Thursday, Oct. 27 in the auditorium. The festivities kick off with a costume parade at 5:30 p.m., followed by dancing, crafts, activities and snacks. We will also be selling and decorating cookies and cupcakes to benefit Oakton’s Eyeglass Fund, which covers the cost of glasses for many Oakton students.

The second annual Stuff The Bus event is happening tomorrow! Everyone is welcome to receive free groceries starting at 4 pm. Last year all the groceries were distributed within 45 minutes, so don’t snooze!

Story Store OPENS Friday, October 14th!

Story Store is Oakton’s bookstore and is open to all grades. Story Store offers new and used children’s books to students, parents, teachers, and staff. Story Store has books for every interest and reading level, in English and Spanish. New books are priced from $1 to $3, with used books for as little as 25 cents. Story Store is open weekly during recess.
Story Store is an independent operation, managed by parents who enjoy helping children choose books. New helpers are welcome at any time. To find out more, email Amy Bilski sewitallamy at gmail dot com
