Becoming a Room Parent is one of the best ways to become involved with other parents in your child’s class. Almost all of the tasks required can be done on your own time and worked out as each class sees fit, working with other parents and the classroom teachers.
Room Parent Role
Room Parents assist with communication and encourage participation for all PTA sponsored and other school events in your assigned classrooms by working with other parents and teachers. Room Parents act as liaison to PTA leadership with any questions, concerns and ideas coming from classroom parents and teachers. Room Parents also act as a “knowledge resource” for classroom parents and teachers with regards to PTA sponsored events, committees and programs, as well as other school wide sponsored events and programs.
How do I become a PTA Room Parent?
We are currently in the process of making the Room Parent program at Oakton stronger. If you’d like to be a part of this process, please contact the PTA President at oaktonpta.president at gmail.com.
